DSA co-chair Megan Romer confirmed these are the DSA’s goals should Democrats win this November. Cait Conley’s answer when asked about the far left helping her campaign: “I welcome anyone here in this district.”
Pearl River, NY — July 28, 2026… On Sunday, Democratic Socialists of America National Co-Chair Megan Romer went on Fox News Sunday and confirmed her party’s agenda point by point. Host Shannon Bream ran through it with a round of true-or-false questions, including the ones below.
Abolish the Senate? True. Abolish the Presidency? True. Abolish ICE? True. Defund the Pentagon? True. Total government ownership of large corporations? True. Romer said the party would abolish borders and grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, including criminals. She said prisons would go too, “as part of a long-term program.”
The interview came just after the DSA put out its new “Workers Deserve More” manifesto. That document calls for scrapping the executive branch and the Senate. It calls for eliminating the Electoral College. It would allow the House of Representatives to install a prime minister-style leader and to pick members of the Supreme Court.
Here in the Hudson Valley, Cait Conley knows exactly what this movement stands for. She’s been asked about the socialist sweep in New York City over and over again by reporters. After her primary win, she sat down for interviews with CBS, Bloomberg TV, and NBC and got a direct question from each. Confronted with a clip of Brad Lander, who pledged in writing to work to defund the NYPD and was a proud longtime member of the DSA, saying he looked forward to campaigning for her in the Hudson Valley, Conley doubled down: “I welcome anyone here in this district.”
So today, the Lawler campaign is calling on every Democratic elected official and every Democratic Party leader in New York’s 17th District, across Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess, to answer one simple question: do you denounce the platform Megan Romer championed on national television?

That should also include Cait Conley, who has repeatedly claimed she’d welcome “anyone here in this district” to help get her elected – does that also include the radicals in the DSA?
