PRESS RELEASE: January 30, 2026 Sullivan County, NY
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Sullivan County announced the arrest of Damien J. Bruce, age 44, of Yonkers, NY, for inappropriate sexual conduct with a child.
The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit, working in conjunction with Sullivan County Child Protective Services, received allegations in recent days that Bruce engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of thirteen. The victim was an unrelated household member at the time of the incident.
This investigation was assisted by State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Wurtsboro and State Police Wurtsboro barracks.
Following a thorough investigation, Bruce was arrested and formally charged with the following offenses:
• Predatory Sexual Assault of a Child, class A-II felony
• Criminal Contempt 1st, class E felony
Bruce was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
