New City, NY – In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, the Town of Clarkstown is hosting two events in July, both at Felix Festa Middle School: the Patriotic Drone Show and separately the Fireworks Extravaganza.

Clarkstown will host the first-ever patriotic drone show in the history of the Hudson Valley on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack. The celebration will begin with a special performance by the official West Point Band as part of Clarkstown’s Summer Concert Series, followed by a spectacular drone light show illuminating the night sky.

400 synchronized drones will create breathtaking patriotic imagery and symbols honoring America’s 250-year legacy. The drone show features light formations in the sky with minimal noise, making it a more comfortable experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities and a friendlier option for pets. The show will also feature a special design created by the winner of the High School Drone Show Design Competition, giving local students the opportunity to leave their mark on this historic celebration. The event begins at 6:30pm with music, games and food trucks. The West Point Band will start at 8pm and the drone show will commence at approximately 9:15pm.

Supervisor George Hoehmann stated, “This groundbreaking event marks a first for our region and promises to be a memorable experience for residents and visitors of all ages. Bring your family, bring your lawn chairs, and join us as we celebrate America’s past, present, and future under the stars!”

In addition to the drone show, the Town will also be hosting its annual Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack. The Rockland County Radio Control Club will present a flying demo at 7:15pm followed by a concert with the band, “Ladies of the 80s”.

For both events, there will be shuttle buses from Germonds Park, 185 Germonds Road, West Nyack, NY 10994 and BOCES/Jesse J. Kaplan School, 65 Parrott Road, West Nyack, NY 10994 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. There will be limited parking at Laurel Plains Elementary School, 14 Teakwood Lane, New City, NY 10956. There will be no access to Felix Festa Middle School from Laurel Plains. You must follow the roadway to the access gate at Jolen Drive and Felix Festa Middle School.

All residents are invited to join the two celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary!
