PRESS RELEASE
On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Orange County announced the arrest of Robert Worden, age 51, of the City of Port Jervis, for inappropriate sexual conduct involving a child.
The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit, working in conjunction with Orange County Child Protective Services, received allegations in June 2025 that Worden engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of eleven.
Following a thorough investigation, Worden was arrested and formally charged with the following offenses:
• Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree, a Class D felony
• Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor
Worden was arraigned in the City of Middletown Court, Central Arraignment Part, and was remanded to the Orange County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000 cash, $100,000 secured bond, or $200,000 partially secured bond. Worden is scheduled to appear in the Town of Wallkill Court on January 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
