New City, NY – County Executive Ed Day and Youth Bureau Executive Director Gabriella Marano-Holahan announce that the Rockland County Youth Bureau is now accepting applications from not-for-profits, community-based organizations, and municipal agencies applying for 2027 Youth Sports funding for the term October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027. Applicants must provide sports or physical fitness activities to Rockland County youth up to age 18.
Sports opportunity funding awards are guided by the following principles:
• Sports-based youth development programs are out-of-school-time programs that use a particular sport to facilitate learning and life skill development in youth.
• Sports are effective tools in positive youth development and family engagement.
• Sports improve the lives of young people by promoting positive social, emotional, health and educational outcomes and have important life-long impacts.
• Coaching education greatly improves the sports experience and development outcomes of young people.
Applicant Information Sessions will be offered to assist with the application process on Wednesday, August 19th @ 10:00am OR 4:00pm via Microsoft Teams. To register for a session, email RCYBFunds@co.rockland.ny.us.
