Rockland County is making headlines for one of the strongest job growth improvements in New York State. According to the latest figures from the New York State Department of Labor, Rockland ranked second in the state for year-over-year job growth, with a rate of about 4.6%, trailing only one other county.
The growth is being driven by several key sectors, including private education and health services, professional and business services, and financial activities. Some areas, such as leisure and hospitality, saw small declines, but the overall job picture is looking up for residents.
“This is exciting news for our community,” said a local business owner. “More jobs mean more opportunities for families and young people looking to stay and work in Rockland.”
Rockland’s strong performance also makes it the fastest-growing county in the Hudson Valley region, highlighting the county’s growing appeal for businesses and workers alike.
State officials credit the growth to a mix of local investment, new businesses opening, and a resilient workforce. For residents, it’s a sign that the local economy is moving in a positive direction, even as other parts of the state face slower employment gains.
Community members say they hope this trend continues, bringing not only jobs but stronger support for local businesses and services.
