NEW CITY, N.Y. – District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced that Wesleigh Gilsenan, 41, of Orangetown, New York, was found guilty in Rockland County Court before the Honorable Kevin F. Russo, Jan. 30, 2026.

Gilsenan was convicted of Burglary in the Second Degree following the two-day bench trial.

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 10:50 a.m., the defendant unlawfully entered the first-floor apartment of a house in the Village of Spring Valley and rummaged through various items belonging to the victim, including medication and money.

Following the verdict, the defendant was remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail and is facing up to 15 years in state prison. Sentencing is scheduled for April 29, 2026.

“Burglary is a serious crime that violates the safety and privacy of our residents,” said District Attorney Walsh. “My Office remains committed to prosecuting those who violate the law and disrupt the sense of security in our neighborhoods.”

The investigation was conducted by the Spring Valley Police Department with assistance from the Rockland County Sherriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations Unit.

The case was prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Emily McNiff and Assistant District Attorney Katie Crispi.
