
The New York State Police will host a free Community Service Day on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the New York State Police Academy, located at 1220 Washington Avenue, Building 24, Albany, NY 12226.
The family-friendly event is open to the public and will give community members an opportunity to meet members of the New York State Police and partner agencies while learning more about the equipment, training, technology and specialized resources used by law enforcement and public safety professionals.
Activities and displays are expected to include:
- Live police K9, drone, aviation and underwater recovery demonstrations
- Police vehicles, motorcycles, fire trucks and armored vehicles
- New York State Police Aviation helicopter
- Water rescue boat
- Child safety seat installation station
- Opportunities to meet Troopers and representatives from participating agencies
Participating agencies include the Albany Police and Fire Departments, Bethlehem Police Department, Colonie Police Department, Menands Police Department, University Police, FBI Albany, U.S. Marines and U.S. Army.
The event is free and open to the community. Families and children are encouraged to attend. Food will be available for purchase during the event.
