On deep background from a Republican group:
New polling from a Republican group shows Democrat Effie Phillips-Staley has more than doubled her support since earlier this year in the primary race for New York’s 17th Congressional District.
The survey from last month included 364 likely Democrat primary voters, and it found that while Cait Conley and Beth Davidson led the pack at 22% and 21%, respectively, Phillips-Staley had jumped to 11% following appearances with Hasan Piker, criticism from President Trump, and endorsements from groups like Bernie Sanders’ Our Revolution.
The poll also found 38% of voters are still undecided with only 22 days to go until the June 23rd primary, leaving Effie Phillips-Staley with room to grow.
