With just a month until November 3rd Election Day, Rand raises more than three times as much from Rockland donors, with more than nine times as many local contributors.

NYACK, NY — Democratic State Senate candidate and Nyack Mayor Joe Rand outraised Republican incumbent Bill Weber by 68% during the July–September fundraising period, according to the campaigns’ October public disclosure filings. Rand raised $33,705 compared with Weber’s $20,028, with particularly strong advantages in individual contributions and support from Rockland County residents.

During the reporting period, Rand raised $20,355 from individual donors, compared with Weber’s $6,028—a 238% advantage. Rand also reported 122 individual contributors to Weber’s 12, more than ten times as many.

The difference was especially pronounced among Rockland donors. Rand raised $17,375 from Rockland contributors, compared with Weber’s $5,778—a 201% advantage. Rand received contributions from 101 Rockland donors, compared with just 11 for Weber—818% more local contributors.

“I’m just so grateful for the outpouring of support throughout this campaign, and especially this last quarter,” said Rand. “It’s not easy to outraise an incumbent who has been running for this office since 2020, but we raised more than three times as much money from Rockland donors, with more than nine times as many local contributors. That’s an incredible sign of enthusiasm and support from the Rockland constituents I hope to represent.”

The latest filing builds on Rand’s fundraising advantages throughout the campaign. Campaign-to-date figures show:

• Individual contributions: Rand raised $167,666 to Weber’s $125,165—34% more.

• Individual contributors: Rand reported 708 to Weber’s 339—109% more.

• Rockland contributions: Rand raised $125,914 to Weber’s $59,843—110% more.

• Rockland contributors: Rand reported 554 to Weber’s 277—144% more.

“Joe Rand is building massive support across the district. It is clear that people in this community are energized about this campaign and ready for a Senator who will listen to their concerns and fight for the needs of this district,” said DSCC Chair, Senator Shelley Mayer. “The momentum continues to grow and more and more voters are looking past empty promises and political rhetoric and asking themselves: who is actually going to deliver for them? Joe Rand is the answer! He is ready to bring a new voice to the Senate and make sure SD-38 has a representative who can and will deliver real results.”

Rand is running to bring practical, results-oriented leadership to Albany, with a focus on fighting back against increases in the cost of living, especially in housing, healthcare, and utilities. The October filing shows that his campaign continues to draw financial support from a substantially broader base of individual and Rockland donors than the incumbent’s campaign.
