Joe Rand Announces Train Station Tour to Speak with Voters About Transit Issues in Rockland County
Rockland County, N.Y. – Joe Rand, Mayor of the Village of Nyack and Democratic candidate for state senate in the 38th district, is announcing today that he will be speaking with voters at every train station in the district over the next week and a half.
Rockland County commuters are currently saddled with long, unreliable journeys that require a transfer in either Secaucus or Hoboken. Improving public transportation options across the 38th district is a top priority for Joe Rand
Joe Rand will be speaking to voters at the following times and train stations between Tuesday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 15:
- Tuesday, 9/8, Nanuet, 6:30 – 7:30 AM
- Wednesday, 9/9, Spring Valley, 7:00 – 8:00 AM
- Thursday, 9/10, Suffern, 7:00 – 8:00 AM
- Monday, 9/14, Sloatsburg, 7:00 – 8:00 AM
- Tuesday, 9/15, Pearl River, 7:00 – 8:00 AM
“The current state of Rockland County’s public transit is abysmal. Our residents either have to endure unreliable service on NJ Transit or HudsonLink, or take a lengthy bus commute that makes multiple stops in New Jersey,” said Joe Rand. “Improving our public transit options will be a top priority for me as our next state senator and I look forward to talking through solutions with riders across the district.”
Joe Rand will be joined by elected officials and local candidates at multiple of his train station visits.
Joe Rand is the current Mayor of Nyack, a business leader, and longtime Rockland County resident. He is running for the New York State Senate to lower costs for working families, expand economic opportunity, and deliver practical solutions for the issues that matter most to his fellow Rockland County residents.
