Rockland BOCES is seeking a candidate to work in its Career and Technical Education program. This position involves a variety of routine, non-instructional duties that support teachers and students in a classroom setting. Duties vary depending on the assigned program area and school needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the field of Cosmetology, Auto Technology, Electrical, or Animal Science.
Responsibilities include assisting teachers with clerical tasks such as grading assignments using provided scoring guides, recording grades, tracking attendance, making photocopies, distributing materials and supplies, and maintaining classroom records. The incumbent may also create and maintain classroom displays, bulletin boards, charts, and files; set up audio-visual and laboratory equipment; assist students with organizational and physical needs; and help maintain a safe and orderly learning environment in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, libraries, and school grounds.
The work is performed under the direct supervision of a Teacher or other professional school staff member.
Candidates should have experience working in the field of Cosmetology, Auto Technology, Electrical, or Animal Science.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
