The Rockland County Office of the County Attorney is seeking a law student candidate to perform routine legal tasks for our Litigation Team. Appointments in this class are typically temporary and seasonal. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the department head or designated supervisor. Duties include performing a variety of routine tasks such as legal research and writing. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and enrollment in college in the academic semester immediately preceding the season’s employment.

- Work Location: New City, NY
- Special Requirement: Continued enrollment in college (or graduate school, including law school) must be maintained throughout the course of employment in this title. The appointing authority is responsible for confirming enrollment status in each academic semester following initial appointment.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following:
- $17.50 Hourly rate (as of 9/29/2026)
- This position may qualify for NYS 50-Hour Pro Bono Bar Admission Requirement (22 NYCRR Section 520.16).
