Job Description:
The North Rockland Central School District is seeking candidates for a Head Lifeguard position for the 2026-2027 school year. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1. Must be at least 18 years of age with two (2) seasons of adequate lifeguarding experience; and
- 2. Possession of a current certification in American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer CPR or equivalent certification as determined by the New York State Department of Health; and
- 3. Possession of a current lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross or other recognized certifying agency acceptable to the New York State Department of Health.
Other Requirements and Information:
Civil service examination requirements have been waived for this position as part of the NY HELPS Local program. Candidates must only meet the minimum qualifications for consideration.

Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following:
