The Clarkstown Central School District is seeking a candidate to work in their fast-paced Curriculum and Instruction Department.

Job Description

The Data Manager (Schools) manages and oversees the collection, organization, and maintenance of data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and security for platforms and other software within the Curriculum & Instruction Department that provides access to reports and functions to all teachers and administrators. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting data audits and quality assurance checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies or errors.
  • Analyzing data trends and patterns to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations.
  • Running reports as part of regular school and district functioning, as well as uncovering discrepancies in data input.
  • Standardizing forms and computerizing manual records.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of data-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Providing input on database programs to be utilized.

The work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a comparable degree and three (3) years of paid work experience involving training users in software applications, designing and maintaining databases, and creating a variety of computerized reports through the analysis and organization of data; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a comparable degree and one (1) year of paid work experience involving training users in software applications, designing and maintaining databases, and creating a variety of computerized reports through the analysis and organization of data.

Other Requirements and Information:

  • Residency in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut is a requirement for this position.
  • Civil service examination requirements have been waived for this position as part of the NY HELPS Local program. Candidates must only meet the minimum qualifications for consideration.
  • Full Time – 12 Months

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following:

  • $70,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)
  • 37.5 Hour work week
