County Executive Ed Day
For the past two years, one of my top priorities has been ensuring that Rockland County has a clear, thoughtful roadmap for the future—one that reflects not only where we are today, but where we want to be for generations to come.
I am pleased to share that we have reached a major milestone in that effort. The Envision Rockland Final Draft Plan is now available for public review at www.envisionrockland.com.
This truly is the final stretch of a planning process that has been shaped by the people of Rockland County every step of the way. From community workshops and public meetings to surveys, stakeholder discussions, and ongoing collaboration with municipal leaders, community organizations, and our project Working Group, thousands of voices have helped guide this plan. Every conversation, suggestion, and perspective has contributed to creating a vision that reflects the needs and priorities of our residents.
While we have reached the Final Draft, this is not the end of the conversation. In fact, there is still one final opportunity for the public to help shape the plan before it is considered for adoption.
The second and final public hearing on the Final Draft Plan will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The public comment period also remains open through August 4, giving residents the opportunity to submit written comments by email to RCPlan@co.rockland.ny.us.
Every comment received—whether shared during the public hearing or submitted in writing—will be reviewed and considered as we move through this final phase.
I encourage everyone to take a few moments to review the Final Draft. Whether you have participated throughout this process or are just learning about Envision Rockland, your input still matters. This is your opportunity to help ensure the final plan reflects the values, priorities, and aspirations of our community.
I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has dedicated their time and expertise throughout this process. Planning for the future is never accomplished by one individual or one department—it requires collaboration, engagement, and a shared commitment to making Rockland County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
As we approach the finish line, I invite you to stay engaged and help us take this final step together. Please visit www.envisionrockland.com to review the Final Draft Plan, learn more about the planning process, and participate before the public comment period closes.
Thank you for helping us build the future of Rockland County.
