A driver. was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a two-vehicle crash on Route 304 at Washington Avenue late Thursday morning, December 26 officials report.
Emergency responders — including Orangetown Police, Rockland Paramedics, Pearl River EMS, and the Pearl River Fire Department — were called to the busy intersection after the collision, which resulted in minor injuries to those involved. Police say one of the drivers showed visible signs of impairment at the scene, leading officers to conduct field sobriety testing and ultimately take the driver into custody on DUI charges.

While none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, the crash caused traffic delays as crews worked to clear vehicles and conduct their investigation. Authorities have not released the name of the person arrested, and charges are pending as the case moves through the legal system.
Route 304 serves as one of the main north-south corridors through Pearl River and parts of Rockland County, carrying heavy local and commuter traffic. The crash and arrest — coming during the busy holiday week — underscore ongoing concerns about impaired driving on our roadways.
