Jawonio and about 20 other organizations that help people with disabilities held an event on Friday March 13, 2026, at RCC called The Rally in the Valley. This was the third year they have done this. The purpose of the rally was to let the state and local politicians know that the people who are the caregivers, teachers and other people who work with those who have disabilities to be able to function on their own, that they need to have a living wage. They are asking for a 4% raise for these people. One such person who has benefitted from this is Katie Sanchez.
