Clarkstown Democratic Committee Host Second Candidate Forum

(Clarkstown, NY) – The Clarkstown Democratic Committee will host its second democratic candidate forum on Thursday, December 11 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The forum, moderated by Pete Dominick, will feature three candidates for New York’s 17th Congressional District – John Cappello, Peter Chatzky, and Effie Phillips-Staley; candidate for reelection in the 96th State Assembly District, Patrick Carroll, and newly announced candidate for the 38th New York Senate District, Joe Rand.

The four contenders in the Democratic primary race for Congress in NY17 – Cait Conley, Beth Davidson, Michael Sacks, and John Sullivan – participated in the first democratic candidate forum held on October 15. Due to the number of candidates in the NY17 democratic primary, the Clarkstown Democratic Committee split the candidates between two forums based on their fundraising during the second quarter of 2025, not including personal contributions and loans.
