Celebrating “So Much Good” at the 6th Annual Jawonio Foundation Virtual Gala Telethon

For more than 75 yearsJawonio has been a cornerstone of support, inclusion, and empowerment in Rockland County. Founded in 1947, Jawonio began as a small community initiative dedicated to helping local families. Over the decades, it evolved into a comprehensive nonprofit serving children and adults with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and special needs. Today, Jawonio offers early intervention, education, vocational training, behavioral health services, and residential programs—empowering nearly 3,500 individuals each year to achieve independence and meaningful participation in their communities.

This legacy of care and inclusion will be celebrated at the 6th Annual Jawonio Foundation Virtual Gala Telethon, taking place on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 11:30 AM.

Community members are invited to tune in to an uplifting hour of stories that showcase the life-changing impact of Jawonio’s programs and the people who make “So Much Good Happen” every day. NBC New York Chief Meteorologist Janice Huff will once again host the event.

This year, Jawonio proudly honors:

  • Anne & Patrick Byrne – 2025 Friends Award
  • Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman
  • Tiffany Mason – Sandy Sewell Self-Advocacy Award

These individuals exemplify compassion, advocacy, and partnership—values that have strengthened Jawonio’s mission for generations.

As a nonprofit that relies on community support, private donations are more vital than ever. Contributions help sustain programs that foster independence, dignity, and hope for children and adults with special needs.

Viewers can watch the livestream at jawonio.org/gala25 and are encouraged to donate online or by check (payable to The Jawonio Foundation, 260 N. Little Tor Road, New City, NY 10956).

With gratitude for every supporter and on behalf of the thousands of individuals who benefit from its services, Jawonio invites the community to join in celebration—and to continue helping this extraordinary mission thrive.
