OSSINING, NY – Cait Conley, a 16-year Army combat veteran, national security expert, and Hudson Valley native, announced today that her campaign raised more than $1.6 million in the second quarter of 2026, bringing her total fundraising haul to $4.2 million for the cycle, with $1 million cash on hand.
The campaign’s fundraising success reflects how people–across NY-17, New York and the country– are ready for new leadership. Over 90% of the contributions were under $100, with over 45,000 individual donations powering the campaign. When it comes to targeted congressional districts, Cait is one of the top Democratic challengers in the country. Conley’s campaign has accepted no corporate PAC money, relying instead on individual supporters committed to new leadership that puts working families first.
“I am incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received across the Hudson Valley and the country,” said NY-17 candidate Cait Conley. “Mike Lawler tried everything he could to avoid facing me in the general election and he failed – and he’s going to fail again in November. While I spent my career in service to this country, taking down some of the world’s deadliest terrorist groups and making life or death decisions from combat zones to the Situation Room, Mike Lawler spent his time selling out the Hudson Valley for his party bosses and the billionaires that bankroll his campaigns. He is terrified of me and the movement we are building and he should be. Come November, we’re going to send him into retirement and bring real leadership back to the Hudson Valley.”
About Cait Conley:
Cait Conley is a fourth-generation Hudson Valley native and the daughter of a postal worker and a construction worker. She is a decorated combat veteran and national security expert who has spent her life answering the call to serve. That call began on 9/11, when, as a junior in high school, she watched the Twin Towers fall. The next day, she started the process for applying to West Point — earning acceptance and becoming the first in her family to graduate college and then went on to attend graduate programs at Harvard and MIT. Cait served 16 years as an active duty Army officer, deploying six times to keep Americans safe and later led counterterrorism efforts on the White House National Security Council and at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Throughout her career, Cait has been called upon to solve the toughest problems and fix things that are broken. That’s why Cait is running for Congress — to fix a broken system and fight for a better future for New Yorkers.
