| NEW YORK — Republican candidate for New York Attorney General and former federal prosecutor Saritha Komatireddy today announced the endorsements of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association and Rochester Police Locust Club, adding the support of law enforcement officers from two of Upstate New York’s largest cities to her campaign. The endorsements underscore growing law enforcement support for Komatireddy and her public safety agenda, including cracking down on repeat offenders, strengthening cooperation between state and local law enforcement, combating organized retail and auto theft, and ensuring police officers have the support and resources they need to keep their communities safe. As a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York, Komatireddy prosecuted terrorists, violent criminals, and other serious offenders. She later served as Chief of Staff at the Drug Enforcement Administration. As Attorney General, she will put public safety and support for law enforcement at the center of the office’s mission. “I am incredibly honored to have the support of the men and women who put on the uniform every day to protect Buffalo and Rochester. These officers know better than anyone what is happening on our streets and what it takes to keep communities safe. As Attorney General, that is exactly what I will do.” Komatireddy has traveled across New York, meeting directly with police officers, sheriffs, prosecutors, local officials, and community members about the public safety challenges facing their communities.
