This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women of Rockland County—and across our nation—who have served in the armed forces to protect the freedoms we often take for granted. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment make possible the very liberties we cherish, including the freedom of the press.
As a community newspaper, we are reminded every day that our ability to report the news, share stories, and hold a mirror to our society exists because veterans have fought to preserve these rights. Without their service, our voices—and yours—might not have the space to be heard.
To all our veterans, past and present, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your sacrifices ensure that our community, our country, and our press remain free. Thank you for defending the ideals that allow democracy—and journalism—to thrive.
With respect and appreciation,
