Senator Bill Weber Launches Annual Winter Clothing Drive in Rockland

Rockland County residents are once again being asked to open their closets and hearts this winter. State Senator Bill Weber has kicked off his annual Winter Clothing Drive, collecting new and gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and shoes for families in need.

“This time of year can be tough for neighbors who don’t have enough to stay warm,” Weber said. “We’re asking residents to help ensure everyone in our community can face the cold safely.”

Last year, the drive collected more than 1,200 pounds of winter clothing, which were delivered to local social service agencies, including Konbit Neg Lakay and the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center in Spring Valley.

Drop-off locations include Weber’s district office in Nanuet, as well as select town halls and public libraries across the district. Residents are encouraged to check the Senator’s website or call the office for the most up-to-date list of sites and accepted items.

Community members have always responded generously, with families, schools, and civic groups donating coats, hats, and other essentials. “It’s amazing to see the way our community comes together,” said Weber. “Every donation makes a difference.”

For those looking to help, donations can be dropped off throughout November, and volunteers are also welcome to assist with sorting and distributing items. For more information, contact Senator Weber’s office or visit his official website.

If you have photos of donations, or your family participating, send them over to rpedtorkss@gmail.com—we’d love to include them in a future feature!
