An 8-year-old girl was killed Tuesday, June 2, after a vehicle struck her bicycle in Ramapo, police said.
Ramapo police said the crash occurred around 5:39 p.m. near the intersection of Ravenna Drive and Tiffin Lane in Pomona.
SUV struck child on bicycle
Investigators said a 2025 GMC Hummer, driven by a 34-year-old Ramapo resident, struck the child as she was riding her bike.
Victim died at hospital
Rockland Hatzoloh provided emergency medical care at the scene. The girl was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities withheld her identity due to her age.
Driver cooperating with investigation
Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The driver’s identity has not been released.
Investigation ongoing
Ramapo police said the crash remains under investigation.
